Position Overview
This position involves the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders and delivery trucks. If you’re someone that has 1-2 years’ experience operating loaders/excavators, enjoys working during a busy season, and can work both independently and as a part of a team, this is the position for you. By doing so you’ll play an important role in reinventing the way our world is built.
Wage: $19-$21/HR, with potential for overtime.
Location: Stayton, OR. May be expected to travel as needed for business demands.
Hours: Primarily work 10-12 hours per day 5 days per week, and up to 6 days per week per week as needed during the busy construction season. Must also have flexibility to work nights, and weekends as needed per business demands.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One to two years Front-end Wheel Loader experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment with deadlines
- Valid drivers license.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing
- Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products a plus.
- Experience with other kinds of heavy equipment a plus.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operate front-end loaders to load rocks of various sizes, wood, bark dust, etc.
- Ability to operate loaders in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Knowledge of landscape yard inventory stocking procedures
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Keep yard clear of dropped materials
- Groom piles
- Satisfies customer needs to the best of ability including operating a point-of-sale system.
- Verifies load against shipping paperwork.
- Drives truck to destination
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products or materials and transports load to designated area.
- Collects payment from customer
- Inspects and fuels equipment
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
- Operate equipment with safety precautions in place
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
- Performs regular and emergency roadside repairs such as installing light bulbs & fuses
- Performs material pickups from job site and/or supply yard
- Performs yard and building maintenance
- Fueling
- Minor maintenance
- Attend all required safety meetings and trainings.
- Regular, reliable and prompt attendance is required.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
