You will actively participate in your growth within the role and department, under the guidance of the Accounting Supervisor and other Finance leaders. In this role, you will provide support to our 12 operating companies across Washington, Oregon, Idaho & Montana. You’ll be responsible for maintaining equipment databases, reconciling fuel inventory, collaborating with operations to ensure assets are service ready, and working with other team members to manage multiple fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Prepare and post monthly equipment tasks relating to expense/revenue and accruals.
  • Track and code fuel invoices and forward to Accounts Payable for processing.
  • Reconcile fuel inventory for assigned locations monthly.
  • Compilation and filing of monthly fuel tax returns.
  • Track and record fuel usage.
  • Provide backup to the fuel card system administrator to include card initial issuance, re-issues, limit updates, and cancelations.
  • Manage equipment moves between Northwest Region operating companies.
  • Assist in the setup equipment in CMMS and Viewpoint.
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor with annual equipment audit.
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Prepare internal reports as assigned.
  • Effective and timing communication with Finance and Operations teams regarding periodic reporting and issue resolution.
  • Assure that the assigned daily operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives.
  • Adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and company policies.

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 1 – 3 years accounting or related experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in fuel tracking, fuel card systems, mileage and odometer reporting a plus.
  • Manufacturing or construction accounting background a plus.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent worker who can prioritize deadlines.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Ability to get along well with a diverse staff of employees.
