Job Summary:

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Inland East sub-region finance and accounting team. This role, reporting to the Regional Controller, will be responsibile for ready-mix accounting and forecasting supporting 8 plants in the sub-region. This position will have a cross-functional dotted line to General Manager of Aggregates and Ready-mix, our Ready-mix Sales Manager, and our Transportation & Ready-Mix Operations Manager. They will work closely with the sub-region Controller budgeting and forecasting the P&L's for Ready-mix and Ready-mix delivery, providing commentary on LOB performance and variances to plan, forecast, and prior periods. 

 

Addiitonal responsibilities include ComEx deliverables with respect to Ready-mix, Aggregates, and external Asphalt sales: providing financial analytics and insights to leadership regarding customer and plant profitability. Monitors customer volumes and payment habits highlighting positive and negative trends. Assisting with downloading and uploading pricing information into Point-of-Sale software in-line with recent CPQ changes. This position will also work with management on the sub-region backlog providing insight and commentary. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weekly production entries and associated accounting for ready-mix.
  • Weekly cement purchases (bills of lading) processing and reconciliation to plant reports.  Weekly/monthly cement invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Ready-mix constituent materials monthly cycle counting postings and analytics.
  • Create and analyze weekly sales, production and ad-hoc financial reports and provide explanations
  • Conduct financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support decision-making.
  • Assist with downloading and uploading pricing information into Point-of-Sale software.
  • Balance Sheet account reconciliations for inventories and other accounts as assigned.
  • Full P&L forecasting for ready-mix and ready-mix delivery including commentary for variances to plan, forecast, and prior year.
  • Provides financial analytics and insights to leadership regarding customer and plant profitability.  Monitors customer volumes and payment habits highlighting positive and negative trends.
  • Prepares, books, and provides commentary to construction and material backlogs.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of budgets, forecasts, actual results and Ad Hoc projects to assist in management's review and decision making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and insights.
  • Contribute to improvements in accounting policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Utilize software tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Viewpoint, Sigma and Hyperion to analyze financial data.
  • Assist in special projects or assignments as requested.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 3+ years of financial analysis experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel is a must (pivot tables, lookups, other intermediate to advance formulas), experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Viewpoint, Hyperion, Sigma and SAP is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work at a quick pace environment with strict deadlines (month-end and other fiscal period closing requirements)

 

Work Environment & Benefits:

  • Reporting to: Sub-region Controller.
  • Work Setup: In office position at our administrative facility in Spokane Valley, WA
  • Some travel required
