Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) business, overseeing seven (7) plants, dispatch, customer service, delivery and transportation. This role is key to driving safety, operational excellence, quality and growth within the RMC industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and prior experience in ready-mix concrete or related construction materials.

 

Location: This position will be based in Spokane, WA. 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Lead and oversee daily RMC operations, including dispatch, production, quality control and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and administrative policies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and minimize operational risks.
  • Manage budgets and control costs while improving operational performance.
  • Build and develop effective teams and prepare reports on future opportunities.
  • Oversee training and ensure crews have tools and skills to operate safety and effectively.
  • Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to maximize products sales and customer service.
  • Support job bidding processes and long-term planning with the General Manage
  • Continuously seek improvements in safety, production, products quality and customer experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Compensation & Company Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $95,000 – $120,000/year

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in RMC or construction materials
  • Plant management or related experience 3+ years minimum
  • Leadership in managing operational teams, development and budgets
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental regulations and compliance standards

 

Work Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends when needed
  • Adherence to PPE requirements and all safety protocols
  • Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk or stand greater than one third of the time, or sit no greater than a third of the time
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders to examine equipment at heights.
  • Ability to occasionally move/carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.

 

Work Environment

  • Ability to wear respirator in workplace conditions containing fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Will work between a standard office and field operations environment.
