Job Summary

 

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for purchasing quality products for our Central Pre-Mix business and managing inventory levels. This role will coordinate the purchasing of materials, supplies, and expediting services. In addition, this role will manage all local vendor relationships and ensure ordered products are purchased at optimum cost and received within the stated timeframe.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver cost savings and other procurement benefits (as defined in the Category Plan).
  • Manage inventory levels and provide forecasts on future demands to assist the business.
  • Analyze inventory and payment terms financial impact.
  • Knowledge of sourced programs as directed, to maximize value to the company.
  • Working within ERP system and responsible for data integrity.
  • Reviews and approved purchase requisitions, and generates POs as required.
  • Act as the single point of contact for the individual business and locally managed suppliers.
  • Facilitate the process of obtaining quotes and / or bids from potential suppliers, if necessary.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure on time deliveries, consistent quality, and uninterrupted supply chain, and best pricing. Report such changes to the internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Assist field personnel and Sourcing to perform tests and demonstrations of products / services to evaluate value.
  • Work with field personnel, requestors, and stakeholders to clarify specifications, establish source alternatives, increase standardization and otherwise increase value related to an order.
  • Arrange for the proper transportation of the purchased products if needed, and not otherwise determined.
  • Conduct research and support efforts to identify and evaluate new / alternative suppliers which meet the business requirements.
  • Work with regional and national procurement team to track and communicate market conditions, pricing trends, and opportunities to maximize purchasing value.
  • Understand the local supply chain (manufacturing, distribution, delivery, use, service, and disposal) related to the products and services being purchased.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or work experience in a related field.
  • 4+ years’ minimum experience working in procurement.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, able to work on multiple projects at the same me and effectively manage priories.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate competing organizational needs.
  • Knowledge and experience with strategic procurement processes, procurement best practices, import regulations, competitive bidding, market conditions, general contract terms and conditions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to distill strategy into a clear, compelling, and concise narrative.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and derive well supported conclusions.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

 

Compensation

 

  • Base Salary $90,000-$116,000 plus bonus
