The Shop Specialist is responsible for a large volume of data input using dual entry screens; utilizing our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), creating and managing work requests, work orders, mobile fleet records, repair and maintenance events and coordinating them with internal and external resources.  Responsibilities will include: performing monthly review of vendor repairs and maintenance statements and data entry of a variety of items relative to equipment operations.  The Shop Specialist will support Equipment Services personnel and maintain lines of communications with employees and vendors, ensure prompt resolution to questions or concerns, and work with internal and external customers to ensure a smooth process.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinates between mechanics, vendors and dispatch to maintain equipment and shop supplies.
  • Compiling weekly reports, i.e; fuel, equipment hours, etc.
  • Self-starter with initiative to work independently
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards.
  • Maintains equipment report and parts inventory.
  • Communicating with Field Operations personnel & assisting them with solving machine issues.
  • Strong computer skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in deadline driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various parts used for equipment, plants and vehicles.
  • Update and maintain PM hours in CMMS and various Excel spreadsheets.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Proficient skill using Excel, Word and data entry spreadsheets.
  • Other duties as required.

  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • Prior mobile fleet management preferred.
  • Skill in operating computer and imaging systems.
  • Ability to learn procurement systems and processes.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Driver's license with less than 6 points.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.  
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
  • Travel may be required to visit various facilities or to pick up a part.

The employee regular works in both indoor and outdoor settings and is frequently required to sit, twist, bend/stoop, and rotate neck.  Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, up to 50 pounds seldomly.  Occasionally required squat, kneel, climb stairs, clib ladder, stand, walk, and reach waist to shoulder, above shoulder height, and below knee height.
