Primary Function: Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall, window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass. Our company is currently seeking a Product Application Engineer. This position will work closely with our sales team, architects and developers on conceptual designs, simulations, presentations and modeling to secure project specification basis of design.

Requirements:

 

  • 10 years industry experience required
  • Must have strong product knowledge in storefront, window wall, curtain wall and glass products
  • Glazing system application experience and knowledge of building integration
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate well in an architectural environment
  • Experience using parametric modeling, BIM and simulations software preferred
  • Engineering background with ability to resolve problems in an engineering environment preferred
  • Experience using rendering and presentation software preferred
  • Must have good communication, organizational and documentation skills
  • Must have ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Ability to work in a schedule driven environment
  • Desire to learn and grow in fast paced team environment
  • Associates Degree or higher in CADD, Engineering or Architectural Design preferred

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Create demand for the entire Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope product line by influencing basis of design specifications to architects and industry influencers
  • Provide simulations, modeling and preliminary design concepts for pre bid sales models
  • Work with thermal and structural modeling software to provide performance values to meet project design requirements
  • Use Autodesk based software; Revit, Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team and Territory Sales Representatives in developing strong relationships with architects and industry influencers
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
