Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.


Basic Function:


Provide technical support and maintenance for standard curtain wall, storefront, window wall and entrance products.  Design, develop and implement product enhancements to existing products to reduce cost, meet applicable codes and reduce labor to fabricate and install.


Specific Duties:

  • Answer product application questions from internal support, sales, customers and architects pertaining to existing curtain wall, storefront, window wall and door products.
  • Design and develop enhancements to existing curtain wall, storefront, window wall and door products to improve performance, reduce cost and make them more efficiently manufactured, fabricated and installed.
  • Validate thermal and structural performance using simulation software.
  • Coordinate testing required for product enhancements and assist with the installation of new product test units ensuring safe practices are followed.
  • Prepare support drawings and assist in the development of marketing literature for products being developed.
  • Interface with suppliers, sales, purchasing, marketing and manufacturing to ensure development of low-cost products that meet market demands.
  • Be willing and available to travel (5% - 10%).




  • 2 to 5 years experience as an AutoCAD designer in the architectural aluminum industry.
  • Proven ability to work within a collaborative team environment in designing, developing, validating and implementing new entrance, storefront, curtain wall and window wall products.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad 2016 and Inventor.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Vault preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • Solid understanding of field installation principles preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills and strong work ethic.
  • Two-year Associates Degree in Drafting and Design required.
  • Four-year engineering degree preferred.
