Position Overview 

The “Business Support Coordinator” provides general support to the Industrial Minerals line of business and related stakeholders. The person will conduct the role in an effective, confidential, and efficient manner, while demonstrating the highest quality service possible.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times, as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow the CRH Life Saving Rules.
  • Collaborate with sales, production and quality in order to ensure superior customer service.
  • Receive and process customer orders for bagged and specialty bulk products.
  • Serve as a backup for receiving and processing standard bulk orders.
  • Learn and become proficient using the Apex POS system for processing orders, updating pricing for both material and freight, etc.
  • Schedule freight for delivered customer orders.
  • Obtain spot rate freight quotes when necessary
  • Coordinate with production planner with regard to open orders and on hand inventory.
  • Provide spec sheets and limited technical info to customers and prospective customers.
  • Become familiar with Salesforce in order to be able to update with any sales, billing or quality issues.
  • Collaborate with accounts receivable on resolving customer billing questions or discrepancies.
  • Process check or credit card payments and submit to accounts receivable.
  • Update employee training records.
  • Post and process internal union job openings.
  • Become familiar with Viewpoint in order to provide accurate and timely data entry of all inbound raw material purchases.
  • Verify that pricing for both material and haul for raw materials is in alignment with quoted pricing.
  • Become familiar with the Infield payroll system, in order to serve as a back-up for payroll hours entry.
  • Assist with coordinating, recording, and tracking site wide safety trainings, including first aid/CPR, forklift, MSHA annual refresher, new hire orientation, etc.
  • Take on the “point of contact” role for all parties in relation to office operations (service providers, suppliers)
  • Administer safety boot and PPE reimbursement program for Thomsville union employees.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for newly onboarded employees.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required
  • Regular and timely attendance


Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams.
  • Strong skill base in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) programs.
  •  Must be able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours.
