Summary
This position will work as needed in repairing and maintaining electrical equipment in the surface and underground operations, cleanup of maintenance work area, and other assigned duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for own personal safety always as well as, maintain the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.

Be able to identify any associated risks, and how to implement appropriate controls.
-
Be able to demonstrate and explain the use of the “tag in & tag out” board, as well as all other safety procedures required, when working underground.

Install new electrical systems using 480V and/or 120V and 24V circuits including control and switchgear cabinets, conduits, wiring, and terminations
-
Troubleshoot existing electrical equipment and systems wired in 480V/120V/24V.

Repair and maintain existing electrical equipment.

Electrical testing and calibration
-
Ability to track, record, and maintain official records of work completed as per Federal and State requirements.

Monitor work area and surroundings during task completion and machinery operation.

Maintain operator logs, forms and records in accordance with company policy regulations.

Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.

Safely maintain work area and vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.

Ability to be self-motivated.
Education/Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED as a minimum.
-
Formal Training, minimum 4-year Apprenticeship with a licensed electrician.

Preferably with license as a Journeyman Electrician, tested on National Electrical Code
-
Minimum 5+ year’s previous job experience as Industrial Electrician.

Must have satisfactorily completed the following electrical courses: Electricity I (DC Fundamentals), Electricity II (AC Fundamentals), and RT Electricity.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
-
Able to read and understand complex Industrial Electrical Drawings and Wiring Diagrams.

Ability to operate forklifts and manlifts. Training can be provided.

Must have experience in 480V (wye and delta) as well as 120V and 24V wiring.

Familiar with industrial sensors and instrumentation such as belt scales, level sensors, zero speed switches, thermocouples, and others, as required.

Familiar with PLC programming, wiring, and operation as well as variable speed drive and soft start operation. Must know the basics of ground checks and motor megaohm testing.

Must be able to read wiring diagrams.

Mobility to attend various meetings and events at offsite locations

Hours are extended throughout the year to include nights and weekends when necessary

Travel may be required

Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time,
