Summary

 

Supports the plants through timely procurement of quality materials and maintains part inventory levels in accordance with the needs of the business. Executes procurement strategies that ensure supply and optimizes total cost of ownership for the business while aligning to CRH category management guidelines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow CRH Life Saving Rules.
  • Must have general computer knowledge and be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) to be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Create purchase orders for all parts and supplies for all mobile and stationary equipment and process the receipts/invoices.
  • Maintain proper stock and manage inventory of warehouse and storage areas.
  • Be able to dissect, analyze and interpret manuals, documents, sketches, descriptions, and engineered drawings to order correct parts.
  • Keep excellent records and run reports to manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across different departments, plants and vendors.
  • Demonstrate friendly and business-like attitude towards vendors, customers, truck drivers, fellow employees and supervisors.
  • Prepare and arrange shipping for parts coming in and going out for repair.
  • Manage recurring service contracts (septic, trash, propane, steel, first aid, fire extinguishers, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate consignment inventories.
  • Input work orders into CMMS and track when invoicing is complete.
  • Run for parts as needed in urgent situations.
  • Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, Risk Assessments, etc.)
  • Safely maintain work area and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ability to be self-motivated.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.
  • Other assigned and unassigned duties as required.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of purchasing experience
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred
  • Basic computer skills needed
