Job Summary

 

Production team members must be physically able to stand for ten or more hours of the workday on a cement floor as well as being available to work any shift. In addition, this position requires sustained overhead lifting activities, prolonged or sustained repetitive grasping and/or gripping with hands and sustained repetitive bending of the wrists.

 

Team members are required to follow all company safety rules, wear safety glasses, earplugs and other necessary safety equipment to prevent injuries. Team members are also required to follow all plant/work rules and supervisory instructions. Team members must be able to move to any part of the plant where needed to maintain production.

 

This position requires that material including glass and metal be moved from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the product throughout the plant.
 

STARTING WAGE $13.50/HOUR
Additional $1.50/hour shift differential for 2nd & 3rd shifts

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Handling of fragile and potentially sharp glass and metal product(s) from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for ten or more hours daily
  • Transporting of materials including glass from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process
  • Quality inspection, operating equipment, and/or manually maneuvering equipment
  • Reading labels to expedite product flow into other departments
  • Attaching appropriate labels and tags to products and packages  
  • Understanding layout of the facility to ensure proper product flow
  • Loading and unloading a furnace or production line
  • Inspecting product for any abnormalities and notifying  supervisor immediately of any issues 
  • Utilizing a tape measure to measure and ensure product is within the product specifications   
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area 
  • Perform work other production duties as assigned and instructed by a supervisor or lead
  • Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

 

Requirements

 

  • Must speak, read, and understand English to understand and communicate paperwork and labels
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
  • Flexible work availability (typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekends if needed)
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Previous factory experience is a plus
  • Previous glass experience highly desirable

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to bend/twist  frequently and carry, reach, use hands and arms, stand, and walk constantly
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. regularly by carrying, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
