Position Summary

 

  • Responsible for the development and deployment of global standards, processes & systems utilization strategies for the Americas region and in collaboration with the Group Head of Procurement Excellence 
  • To establish and maintain relations with the other Procurement functions, manage and coach employees, determine necessary advances and educate employees on the use of the processes, tools, software and hardware within Procurement’s day-to-day operations, including all risk and governance aspects.
  • Management and coordination of Regional projects

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities (incl. key stakeholders)

 

  • Provide insights from internal and market analytics to influence the development of strategic category plans; partner with category leaders and business partners on plan development.
  • As required for function and categories assigned, manage the design and development of procurement compliance programs; lead category-specific risk management efforts
  • Manage coach and train the regional procurement excellence team to the extent that the team has the adequate skillset and capabilities to deliver the agreed output and performance 
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert when it comes to your support function. Providing guidance for problems and questions. Defines activities and focus areas of the support function with selected business partners/stakeholders
  • Contribute to Sourcing Excellence functional development efforts such as process improvement and capabilities development
  • Responsibilities also include managing selected Supplier Relationship Management (‘SRM’) programs: processes and procedures, supplier and category segmentation, operational performance and contract management.

Key Competencies

 

  • Demonstrable record of successfully managing a procurement support function (such as Market Intelligence, Sustainability, Risk, Procurement Technology)
  • Extensive proven experience and detailed knowledge of the respective support function 
  • Profound knowledge of the use of tools, processes and technology as an enabler for enhancing procurement organization
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing strategies and structures of the respective support function

 

Education / Experience

 

  • Educated to a degree level – Business or Technical, MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain and/or operations, gradually developed into senior leadership positions with leading demonstrable successful teams in sourcing and/or supply chain in a cross-cultural environment and matrix based environment

  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and implementing procurement improvements within own department and/or in collaboration with other departments
  • Experience in procurement processes/methods/tools/systems, compliance monitoring, knowledge management and performance management in Procurement.
