Job Summary

 

The Strategic Pricing manager role will apply distinctive problem-solving skills to identify, develop and help implement performance and growth-related initiatives to improve profitability across the broad portfolio of APG companies. The role’s initial focus will be to implement pricing solutions across Oldcastle APG. This will include assisting in the development and rollout of new pricing tools and analytics, establishing and overseeing an improved pricing process and infrastructure, and advising operating companies in the development of their specific pricing strategies.

 

  • The position is an ideal fit for an individual with the courage and work ethic to tackle high impact, complex business issues, provide distinctive insights to guide decisions and achieve results, and support their actual implementation.
  • Successful candidates will be able to think strategically, distill and prioritize opportunities, and then articulate clear recommendations to senior managers and executives to drive impactful change.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of pricing analytics, software, and tools
  • Oversee the evolution of a process that ensures a consistent, optimized approach to pricing
  • Use data and analytics to assess impact and understand the drivers of business performance
  • Partner with operating companies and regional leadership to identify opportunities, propose solutions, develop project plans, and support their implementation
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leaders
  • Drive results in a decentralized organization through influence and collaboration

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or other technical field required
  • MBA degree preferred, equivalent work experience considered
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in any combination of sales, manufacturing, finance, consulting or business development.
  • Exposure to experiences that have built genuine business acumen across multiple functions
  • Experience with prevalent B2B pricing systems to include implementation and application of tools
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills with particular strengths in the areas of financial modeling, pricing and commercial diagnostics, and sales & operations
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Distinctive analytical and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to problem solve creatively and think strategically
  • Travel approximately 20%
