Position Overview

Responsible for monitoring of all field activities and operating equipment in the plant; assure all material flows are continuous and uninterrupted.  Perform work area inspections and report any unsafe working conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • To assist production employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires.
  • May be required to work overtime, rotating shift schedule, unsociable hour shifts and respond to call outs.
  • To monitor process equipment lube levels, operating conditions and report any perceived problems.
  • To report any housekeeping or material spill problems in the plant and take necessary actions to prevent and rectify any potential problems.
  • To monitor and maintain all material flows to ensure the quality of products within specifications.
  • To ensure environmental compliance and report any visual emissions.
  • To ensure the safe operation of equipment and safe work practices.
  • To work closely with the Control Room Operator to ensure all communications are accurate and complete.
  • To support short-and long-term goals set by management. Supports publicly and privately decisions / policies of plant and company.
  • To operate all process equipment at the highest production level within permitting limits.
  • To assist the Production Supervisor and Control Room Operator in all aspects of the production process including the starting and stopping of all process equipment.
  • To assist in the training of new employees in the skills and procedures required to perform a task.
  • Work place inspections and housekeeping.
  • First Aid care, accident investigation/reporting, and other emergency issues as needed.
  • Completing all required departmental data logs and reports.



High School Graduate, GED preferred



  • 1 Year related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education, skills, abilities and experience



  •  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
