Position: Project Manager
Reports to: Plant Manager

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am ET - 3:30 pm ET

What you'll be contributing:

  • The Project Manager oversees and contributes to capital projects.
  • This position works as a team member of specific projects and applies procedures within the specific scope of work (SOW).
  • Promotes and follows all aspects of project safety and environmental compliance guidelines and participates in safety meetings.
  • Follows pre-established project budgets, schedules, milestones, and work quality.
  • Performs field supervision and is present on-site at the location for extended periods.
  • Work with assigned Health and Safety Executive (HSE) professionals to ensure contractors conform to health and safety procedures and practices.
  • Works closely with the project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule.
  • Shows critical path items and anticipates problematic issues, foresees typical schedule issues, construction, and impact project costs.
  • Interacts with contractors and project management regarding regular project risk evaluation and monitoring.
  • Verifies compliance with contracted and allocated resources by the contractors.
  • Controls deliverables and receiving and keeps construction records.
  • Cooperates and provides input to and with the assigned project scheduler, based on the information and input from the involved contractors.
  • Participates in regular meetings and follows up on compliance by the contractors with the detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Assess and adjust project progress, productivity, and performance to identify areas for improvement and continuity of construction progress.
  • Receives and reviews relevant project and cost reports to initiate corrective action with the assigned contractor to meet the budget and schedule.
  • Supports management of contracts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, and tracks schedule dates of expected deliverables to sustain the continuity of the construction progress. •Utilizes industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the project execution.

 

To succeed in this position, you will need:

 

  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Engineering, mining, or related discipline.
  • Preferred Other Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Preferred 2 Managing projects in heavy construction and/or process industry.

 

What to expect in a cement environment:

 

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
