Position Overview


The focus of this role is to continually align regional category-based sourcing/buying activities with operational and division business objectives. To utilize category strategies in all procurement activities enabling operational stakeholders with tools and resources to maximize sourcing benefits and transactional value. The Procurement Manager actively collaborates with other Procurement Managers cross divisionally to leverage organizational goals and is the lead for all respective regional procurement activities.



Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Manage procurement activities in respective region by leading a group of cross-functional buyers
  • Accountable for region procurement results
  • Responsible for implementing division procurement strategy at the OpCo/Region level
  • Stay informed of category strategies, aligning with to needs of region
  • Measure and manage OpCo performance including data for benchmarking
  • Execute multiple local initiatives while ensuring adherence to purchasing best practices
  • Develop and manage relationships with local-key suppliers according to category strategies
  • Accountable for driving the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvement
  • Accountable for regional procurement KPIs, performance management and process adherence
  • Analyse local supply market, anticipate changes, and drive subsequent procurement activities
  • Evaluate contracts and suppliers to facilitate final supplier-based decisions with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner
  • Coordinate category and supplier strategy implementation in respective region
  • Deploy innovative processes / systems while ensuring alignment with global strategic sourcing strategies and leveraging group volume and resources
  • Interface with all levels of management to foster professional procurement throughout the division
  • Work with stakeholders to enable best in class supplier-buyer relationships that maximize the value delivered to CRH
  • Participates in and provides procurement leadership for divisional, cross division and functional collaboration.

Well rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen, data and people driven leader and decision maker. Ability to lead and drive the execution of the regional procurement agenda. A dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the CRH procurement organization to enhance collaboration and obtaining the division procurement objectives.

  • Educated to degree level – Business or Technical, a Master’s Degree will be an advantage or an equivalent of education and experience will be accepted
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification desired
  • 4 years Procurement/Purchasing experience, 3 years People Management experience
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software
