The Cementitious norms and standard (CEN) manager will play a key role in the European strategic cementitious roadmap of CRH.  Team member of the iCSC (our European R&DI center on low carbon cementitious), he will be in interaction with our R&D team and all CRH operating company to support them in the CEN and their applications in concrete RMX and pre-cast (EN206, eurocodes, …).

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in cement industry with a depth understanding of the current cementitious norms and standard, normalization process and associated stakeholders.

 

Key responsabilities :

  • Norms and standard watch on CEN and their applications in concrete RMX and pre-cast (EN206, eurocodes, …) :
    • Monitor European standard and their application at country level
    • Analyze impact of norms and standards changes on products and processes
    • Represent CRH at EU standardization & normalisation committee

 

  • Setup and animation of the CRH norms and standard community:
    • Be the SPOC on norms and standard at European level for CRH stakeholders
    • Work with the local correspondent to ensure understanding, application, and impacts of CEN

 

  •  Advocacy:
    • Take part standardization & normalisation work in the interest of CRH (taking into account CRH's integrated business cement-concrete and R&D work in progress) at regional and global level

 

  • Operational support
    • Train/support team on new normative requirements in conjunction with the local person in charge.
    • Quality/product compliance audits in conjunction with the local person in charge.
    • Update internal normative documents in conjunction with the local person in charge.at EU level.

 

  • R&D et Innovation
    • Work closely with internal R&D team to qualify the gap to close in the norms and standard to be able to commercialize the future product in R&D

Qualifications :

  •  Education
    • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science,
  • Experience
    • Minimum 10 years including 5+ years working in depth with CEN.
    • Demonstrated experience working in an international company in a global role with a network of local correspondent
    • Strong experience in internal and external stakeholders
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Outstanding communication and leadership skills to influence and engage stakeholders (fluency in English mandatory).
    • Able to apprehend the normative challenges that impact the entire production chain, from cement to construction, but focuses on cementitious materials and their applications
  • Preferred Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of cementitious materials, and their applications in the building materials industry.
    • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and certifications impacting construction and materials innovation.
