Outside Sales Rep / Drainage, Highway, Bridge and other Engineered Specialty Products


Position Summary


  • The ideal candidate for this position will be a sales professional with experience in the construction products industry.
  • This person will have direct knowledge of the Drainage and Highway market in the North Florida region, and will have years of experience setting and implementing successful market strategies.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability in all areas of sales: time management, pricing strategies, motivation, sales techniques, customer management, bid process management, market analysis, and achievement of sales targets. 
  • Develop understanding of the industry fundamentals, customer base, and competitors. 

Sales Functions 


  • Will be responsible for meeting specific sales volumes and profit margin goals.
  • Partner with other departments (Admin., Quality Control, Engineering, Operations, Dispatch, etc) to ensure every account receives appropriate level of customer service.
  • Represent the company on visits to customer accounts with the goal of increasing sales/marketplace as    well as soliciting feedback on company products and services
  • Expected to generate their own leads through professional sales tactics and networking within the engineering and contractor community.
  • Expected to quickly learn the basic fundamentals of precast concrete, the capabilities of the local manufacturing facilities, and the characteristics of competitive products.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate sales goals.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Ability to meet with key clients to negotiates and closes deals.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients.
  • Will be expected to manage own orders from take-off, bidding, selling, order entry. Will be customer main point of contact.

Qualifications (Education/Experience) and Required Skills 


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sales.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office Programs (word, excel, outlook).
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers – both external and internal.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group or people both within the company and in a sales capacity.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated mindset is absolutely required.
