Position Overview

The Equipment Services Admin will work with the Equipment Services Manager, Equipment Team, and all lines of business to track, report and improve equipment decisions as they impact asset management strategies.  The Equipment Services Admin will support Preferred Materials Region lines of business which include Asphalt, Ready Mix, Block, Gunite and Aggregate/Rail companies.  The primary function of the Equipment Services Admin will be to receive, record and report on equipment information, maintenance information and/or other details as they relate to the utilization of mobile equipment assets. 



Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Participate with new equipment and new vendor setup.
  • Assist equipment team with fuel expenditures, setup, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Confirms financial status by monitoring expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.
  • Responsible for any weekly or monthly reporting as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate records on equipment maintenance.
  • Works with field employees and maintenance department to align PM schedule.
  • Synthesizes data across the department with an analytical eye for improvement
  • Support equipment department as needed with equipment disposal transactions.
  • Use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Use of multiple software systems to enter & export equipment data
  • Participate in various special projects as required to assist the department and the company in achieving its goals and objectives
  • Other tasks as assigned.




  • Finance/Equipment background a plus
  • Experience with asset management preferred
  • Manufacturing and/or construction exposure along with multi-unit operations highly desired.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.



Knowledge/Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel required
  • Experience with large ERP systems is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, and constantly changing environment
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong aptitude with computer programs and learning new systems.
  • Strong oral/written communication and listening skills.





Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

  • Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person.
  • Able to utilize a computer for word processing, e-mail communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
  • May require sitting for extended periods of time.
  • May require periodically lifting objects up to 30 lbs.
