Summary

 

We are currently seeking candidates for a Mine Engineer position with Stoneco of Michigan

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

The criteria for evaluation in this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administer township permit compliance and attend township meetings as needed
  • Design and maintain reclamation plans for all sites
  • Assist operations staff with productivity studies and plant optimization using AggFlow
  • Conduct monthly mine planning updates with operations
  • Actively scout future reserves
  • Assist with MDEQ compliance as needed          
  • Create and maintain mine plans for all sites
  • Assist in short term and long term Capex planning
  • Participate in acquisition due diligence (exploratory drilling, permit reviews, environmental review, site review, reserve confirmation)
  • Create and maintain reserve estimates for all sites
  • Develop and oversee drilling program for existing sites
  • Continue and further develop drill hole data and rock quality testing
  • Develop and maintain short term and long term stripping plans
  • Complete pit and ramp design as needed
  • Develop and maintain mine property maps
  • Work closely with surveying, engineering, and legal consultants
  • Manage aerial surveying for quarries, sand & gravel and asphalt producing sites
  • Operate sUAV for mine planning, topography mapping and stripping calculations
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mine engineering, civil engineering, geological engineering, geology, or a related discipline from an accredited university
  • Previous experience in the mining industry, senior design, enterprise

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check and have a clean driving record.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to work without close supervision.
  • Obtain FAA Part 107 Certification for sUAV Operator

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with management.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

  • Demonstrate effective skills in dealing with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to be work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Carlson Mining Software suite, AutoCAD, and popular mine planning software
  • Negotiating, analytical and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

 

Physical Demands

 

  • This position requires walking, standing, bending, twisting, and sitting.
