Position Overview
We are actively seeking talented individuals to join Preferred Materials for a full-time paid summer 2025 internship opportunity in our QC department. The internship program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded and hands on learning experience. As a QC intern with Preferred Materials, interns will learn how to collect product samples and perform a variety of tests and measures to assess quality and consistency of product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the QC management team.
- Collect samples from concrete or aggregate plants.
- Must maintain at all times a strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
- Processes samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures.
- Preform research and development on new materials to be used.
- Ability to clearly and efficiently communicate with plant staff and area management when needed.
- Ability and desire to learn how the testing of aggregates, cement, flyash and concrete work.
- Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and public.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a construction management or materials science degree related program.
- Strong desire to work in the construction/materials industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
