The QC Manager is responsible for administering quality programs at two different plant operations - Ready Mix & Block - to ensure the manufacturing and production of materials are of the highest quality and in compliance with predetermined criteria and specifications as established by customer and/or DOT standards. 


Job Description Summary

  • Responsible for planning and executing product and material testing, compliance with safety regulations and manufacturing standards. 
  • This position involves performing analyses and technical work on a daily basis to ensure quality and consistency. 
  • Provides guidance to plant staff on quality control issues and tests the products being produced to ensure highest quality, and as needed make immediate adjustments resolving any technical issues. 
  • Responsible for the evaluation of mix designs for all concrete mixes through coordination with internal staff, agencies and testing facilities.
  • Perform mix optimizations. 
  • Ensure testing guidelines are known, understood, implemented and performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). 
  • Produce, compile and review test results and comparisons that ensure consistency as well as understanding of short term/long term changes and variations to materials and products.  Correlates test results in relation to customer complaints to determine cause and prevent future complaints. 



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred in Science, Engineering or related field, plus 7 plus years related experience and/or training in related functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Must have prior experience in Ready Mix Quality Control, ideally in both field and lab environments. 
  • Must currently possess or able to attain ACI Lab grade I and II Certifications. 
  • Ideally, applicants should have their NRMCA II, III, and IV Certifications, OR have achieved all the certifications necessary to be a FDOT QC Manager.
  • Experience working with DOT a plus.
