Position Description                                             

Position Overview

Staker Parson, a CRH company, offers full-time accounting internships for a few exceptional candidates.  The summer intern program is designed to provide an opportunity for a candidate to assess CRH as a future employer and for CRH to assess a candidate’s skills and long-term career fit at the company.  As a summer intern, you will strengthen your accounting skills through practical application and will have opportunities to make a direct impact on the organization.  At the end of the summer internship, you will be able to showcase your work and key learnings to business leaders.  We hire students with leadership potential, strong analytical skills, and a passion for the building materials and construction business.

 

The summer internship program is a roughly twelve (12) week program consisting of three four-week rotational assignments designed to provide a wide exposure across our company’s accounting functions.  Intern assignments start in late May / early June and will conclude in late August.  All rotational assignments will be Northern Utah with interns working in our Ogden, Draper, and North Salt Lake City offices.  The rotational assignments will be in the following areas:

 

  1. Construction/Operational Accounting
  2. Transactional Shared Services
  3. Corporate Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Assist with monthly financial statement review and analysis
  • Assist with month-end close tasks
  • Provide support in developing, revising and analyzing data for all areas of business
  • Assist with other general accounting and office tasks such as data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate as a Junior or higher
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale
  • Willing to work in any of our Northern Utah offices (Ogden, Draper, North Salt Lake City)
