Position Overview


The Social Media & Content Specialist assists the Marketing Coordinator and VP of Sales & Marketing to increase visibility internally and externally via social media. The Social Media & Content Specialist will be responsible for helping the organization in the development and implementation of its marketing, communication, and public relations goals. The Social Media & Content Specialist will be responsible for creating content and posting content to multiple social media pages for businesses across multiple states.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)



  • Gather information, develop, write, and distribute approved press releases
  • Gather, organize, and edit content for company newsletter
  • Assist with proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc.
  • Help with organization of events such as customer luncheon, golf tournaments, and volunteer opportunities
  • Collect and distribute social media and Google Analytics to area leadership
  • Maintain company websites within the division, adding copy such as blog posts, awards, and updating product photos
  • Develop and implement a corporate social media strategy
  • Monitor online activity across geographical areas to ensure anyone using the company's online tools is following established guidelines and best-practice rules
  • Encourage greater social media participation
  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote company brands on various social media websites
  • Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in digital communications or related field such as advertising, journalism or graphic design is a plus


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Copywriting and editing skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including GMB, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
  • Knowledge and understanding of Hootsuite
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software, such as Facebook Insights to track audience engagement and campaign performance
  • Experience with content management systems, word processor applications and image/video editing software
  • Interested in social media trends
  • Creativity
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in business posts on social media platforms
  • Understand SEO and web traffic data
  • Understand social media KPIs
  • Familiar with web page design and publishing
