Job Title:        Engineered Products Estimator (EPEST35)                                        


Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is the leading supplier of architectural glass and aluminum glazing systems, including custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and glass units.



  • Provide detailed estimates for Terrell Standard Product customers and clients based on construction contract documents, architectural drawings and specifications, shop drawings or elevation takeoffs and stock length lists using software estimating tools and other estimating resources. 
  • Achieve acceptable sales and margin levels.  Monitor actual vs estimated costs working with leadership to adjust standards accordingly.  Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels
  • Assist project management with project start up as well as pricing assistance throughout the project duration, including change orders and other pricing exercises as required
  • Work with internal and external engineering resources to provide structurally reviewed quotes
  • Coordinate glass pricing from various glass plants as required
  • Possible jobsite and customer visits as required to discuss projects
  • Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force and internal personnel
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project specific information

  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience estimating mid-size glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings and specifications and provide detailed take offs and estimates that incorporate different building envelope solutions
  • Have experience using computer software estimating programs to prepare estimates
  • Extensive knowledge of aluminum glazing systems & their applications
  • Strong geometry & math skills
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, phones, prioritize workload & work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally; excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Need to have good working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have good understanding of customer needs
  • Strong understanding of glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options as well as their applications. 
  • Knowledge and experience of custom door hardware application and pricing
  • Basic understanding of engineering to be able to use various in house programs for structural review and the ability to identify and enlist help with problematic conditions
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships
