Field Mechanic (Westbrook, Maine): We are seeking a safety-minded, qualified, motivated candidate to work as field mechanic based out of our Westbrook, Maine Shop.  The selected candidate will start out working in the shop and shadowing an experienced mechanic driving from one destination to another throughout Maine.  Following the initial training period, the selected individual will travel independently in the field and on job sites and work in the shop as needed.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, pickups, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers; and possess the ability to repair and maintain equipment under the direction of the supervisor. This position will be based out of our Westbrook, Maine shop.  Classification: Year-round hourly position.

Requirements:

• Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment.
• Basic welding skills, associate degree from a technical institute (preferred but not required).
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Maine State inspection license.
• Basic computer skills are a must.
• Extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights.
• The willingness to travel to other Pike locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont when needed.
• A valid driver’s license and medical card (CDL license would be a plus).
