Job Description

 

Automation Engineer positions offered by Suwannee American Cement Company LLC (Sumterville, Florida). Performs engineering technician duties in the areas of plant computer network systems management, control, instrumentation, and electronics. Provides technical support to other plant personnel and includes after-hours work/callouts to support the plant operations. Supervises electricians and other wage positions associated with Automation Engineering functions. Liaises between corporate IT department and plant to assist with minor IT-related activities on site.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Position requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or related field and 7 years of experience in electrical design, electrical engineering, or automation in an industrial manufacturing environment.   Stated experience must include 7 years of experience with: Designing, implementing, modifying, improving, and maintaining plant systems and plant equipment; Commissioning and Start-Up Automation projects; Troubleshooting Networks, Servers, Automation systems, and Logic systems and at least one of the following: Allen Bradley System (Factory Talk), Siemens (WinCC) ABB, or Wonderware; Using the following Industrial Networks: DeviceNet, Industrial Ethernet, ControlNet, and ModBus; and Deploying VFDs, Smart Relays, Transmitter, decentralized devices (temperature and power meter), and Automation Device integrations with Programable Control Systems. Stated experience must also include 5 years of experience with: Managing and implementing OPC (Open Platform Communications); Managing and implementing the following Hi Level Control Systems: PixP, POLCID library, and ECS; Developing and implementing projects; and Creating Electrical or Automation designs in AutoCad. In addition, experience must include: Utilizing and managing the following Virtual Environments: VMware and VirtualBox; Utilizing the following data analysis tools and management: ABB KM knowledge manager, PIE servers, and Factory Talk Historian; and Utilizing SAP.  Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
